Peter Kokolus

Senior Investment Consultant

Peter Kokolus, MBA, CFA, Senior Investment Consultant, spent two decades at Vanguard before joining Mason in 2026, drawn by something he recognized immediately: a firm built on the same fiduciary principles and conflict-free philosophy he had practiced his entire career.

Peter began his career at Vanguard, where an early stint in the Equity Investment Group during the global financial crisis shaped his perspective on markets and risk before he moved into the nonprofit client work that would define the next two decades of his career. He later served as Senior Investment Consultant at Mercer before joining Mason. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Susquehanna University, an MBA from Drexel University’s LeBow College of Business, and earned his CFA charter in 2011. Nonprofit organizations have been the anchor of his practice throughout, and that work energizes him — seeing firsthand the community impact his clients create gives his work a dimension that goes beyond the portfolio.

Peter’s approach is grounded in plain talk and long-term discipline. He is skilled at navigating committee conversations in a way that allows people of all levels of investment knowledge to engage and contribute — a mindset he credits to his early years at Vanguard. In good markets and bad, his message to clients stays consistent: know what you own, stay the course, and trust the process. Outside of work, Peter coaches baseball and travels with his family. He is also a lifelong Minnesota Vikings fan living in Pennsylvania — which, he’ll tell you, makes him a natural optimist who never quits.
