Jack Delaney
Chief Compliance Officer and In-house Counsel
Jack Delaney, Esq., Chief Compliance Officer and In-house Counsel, brings more than 16 years of investment management law and regulatory compliance experience to his role at Mason. He joined the firm in 2023.
Jack began his career as a Regulatory Analyst at FINRA — a start that gave him a regulator’s perspective he still draws on when counseling business teams today. From there, he built a career leading compliance programs across a range of investment advisory firms, including in-house counsel roles at NRECA and The Rock Creek Group, before serving as Chief Compliance Officer and Senior Counsel at Vest Financial, an institutional asset manager known for its work in the ETF space. That experience gave him firsthand fluency in how registered investment companies are structured and regulated, knowledge he applies directly at Mason to help internal teams navigate complex requirements with confidence. He earned his Juris Doctor from The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law and his Bachelor of Science in Commerce with a concentration in Finance from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia.
At Mason, Jack’s work spans the full range of legal and compliance functions: designing regulatory frameworks, drafting and testing firmwide policies, leading examinations, and advising on federal securities law. Colleagues and clients know him as a hands-on, risk-based advisor who works alongside business teams rather than above them — his goal is always to help teams move quickly and confidently without losing sight of their obligations.
