Tax Administrator

Based in Reston, Virginia, we are a national financial planning and investment advisory firm serving high net worth individuals, endowments, and Fortune 500 corporate sponsored financial planning clients. We are looking for a full-time Tax Administrator to become part of our team. This is an in-office position with the possibility of a hybrid schedule during the off-season.

Primary Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as first point of contact for planners and clients as to status of tax returns.
  • Lead the annual tax engagement letter and tax organizer process.
  • Scan and organize the information provided by clients for tax preparation
  • Develop proficiency in electronic delivery platforms including but not limited to CCH Axcess, SafeSend Suite, DocuSign, Microsoft Dynamics and Sharefile.
  • Lead the E-filing process for all tax returns and extensions.
  • Assemble and process any required paper filings.
  • Assist with tax billing.
  • Maintain complete firm copies of all tax filings and correspondence with tax authorities.
  • Update and maintain log of all IRS and State tax notices.
  • Set up new users and manage old users/clients in CCH Axcess and CRM.
  • Rollover tax returns and tax workpapers annually.
  • Assist with development of financial planning workpapers, templates and deliverables in Excel and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Maintain financial planning and tax electronic libraries.
  • Coordinate and schedule financial planning and tax training and seminars.

Key Qualifications:

  • High proficiency with Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, Word, and Excel required.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
  • Ability to handle multiple administrative responsibilities without direct supervision.
  • Familiarity with CCH Axcess /CCH Prosystems fx or other tax software and/or tax forms and filings is a plus.
  • Accustomed to working in a digital environment.
  • Excellent proofreading, grammar, organizational skills, and attention to detail, with a constant drive for efficiency.
  • Adept at completing multiple tasks and adjusting priorities in a time-constrained environment to meet deadlines.
  • Understands and maintains the confidentiality of all information.
  • Team player.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
